As the holidays approach, it’s a wonderful time to focus on what really matters: being together, sharing laughs, and making memories. At Quail Run, we believe the season is about more than lights and decorations. It’s about connection.
Finding joy in togetherness
There’s something special about gathering with friends and loved ones and simply enjoying each other’s company. Whether it’s sharing a warm cup of cocoa, looking over old photos, or sending holiday cards to someone you haven’t seen in a while, these small moments bring real joy. In a close-knit community like ours, these moments happen naturally. Neighbors stop by for a visit, wave from the walking path, or invite a friend to join them for a chat in the clubhouse. It’s easy to feel connected and appreciated when you’re surrounded by friendly and caring neighbors.
Getting cozy at home
You don’t have to go far to feel festive. Inside your own home at Quail Run, a few simple touches can bring warmth and cheer. Try a small tabletop tree with lights in your living room, or gather natural elements from the yard—pinecones, greenery, or evergreen branches—to create a simple centerpiece. For a cozy evening, bake spiced nuts or heat some apple cider with cinnamon sticks and invite a friend for a relaxed visit. If you prefer a quiet night in, pick a classic holiday movie, play soft music in the background and enjoy the comfort of your favorite chair. When home feels cozy and welcoming, the season feels brighter. For those who want to feel festive away from home, there are plenty of holiday events happening around Yakima Valley.
Holiday events around Yakima Valley
The Yakima Valley has plenty to offer during the holidays:
- The 26th Annual Holiday Lighted Parade sparks joy with floats, music and holiday cheer. The parade ends at the Capitol Theatre with the lighting of the city tree. Bundle up and head downtown on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
- The Lighted Farm Implement Parade in Sunnyside on Dec. 6 will feature dozens of tractors and farm equipment illuminated by holiday lights through a route downtown.
- Holiday light displays at the fairgrounds or parks invite you to take a stroll or drive and soak in the sparkle.
- Seasonal markets and craft fairs give you a chance to shop local, meet friends, and enjoy some festive treats.
- Community concerts and church cantatas bring that extra touch of holiday spirit.
Creating community: The gift that lasts all year
What makes the holidays truly meaningful here is not just what happens in December. It’s the community you’re part of every day. At Quail Run, you’ll find neighbors who greet you with a wave, friends who share a laugh, and familiar faces on walks through the neighborhood. These are the connections that make each season brighter.
From all of us at Quail Run, we wish you many moments of joy, many evenings of comfort, and the kind of togetherness that becomes folklore. Here’s to celebrating every season and making this one truly special.
